The Master of Interior Architecture is a 3-year professional degree accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation that prepares students to become certified interior designers. Our innovative approach to education integrates ongoing, real-world design practice with traditional classroom learning.

BAC students build their design and creative abilities in a core studio learning sequence, supported by drawing and software courses. Students study building systems to understand what is practical and study design history and theory to explore what is possible. Students pursue concurrent practice experience in design firms, community projects, research, and independent projects.

The Master of Interior Architecture degree is composed of three phases. Segment I, Foundation, helps the student develop visual design skills and acquire an understanding of basic design principles. Students work in a studio environment and progress from an interdisciplinary foundation studio to interior architecture-focused projects. By the third semester, the student should be working in the interior architecture industry and accumulating practice skills, reaching a total of 900 practice hours by the conclusion of the program. The work of Segment I culminates in a portfolio submitted to the faculty.

In Segment II, Integration, the student applies theoretical and contextual learning in advanced studios in interior architecture. Knowledge of sustainable design, building systems, lighting and furniture is acquired through coursework and concurrent practice, and is integrated in the studio sequence. A portfolio is submitted to the faculty at the conclusion of Segment II.

In Segment III, Synthesis, the student completes a guided, independent thesis. The two-semester thesis is typically a comprehensive project demonstrating the student's understanding and application of the interior architecture body of knowledge. For a full-time student, the program can be completed in 6 semesters.

為來自中國的學生設計 International students who hold a US undergraduate degree or the equivalency of a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university. English proficiency score: TOEFL score of 79, IELTS minimum band score of 6.5, PTE score of 53, or a Cambridge English Scale score of 176-184.
