The Facilities Management program within the School of Architecture at Pratt Institute seeks to provide the strategic and managerial context needed for professionals to effectively plan, finance, design, build, and operate an organization’s physical assets. We prepare students to assume leadership roles in managing an organization’s built environment.

Educational Objectives

Program educational objectives are broad statements that describe what graduates are expected to attain within a few years after graduation. Program educational objectives are based on the needs of the program’s constituencies that include the following:

1. The assessment, evaluation and problem-solving abilities based on the technical competencies of Facilities Management.

2. An ability to formulate or design a plan that strategically addresses the needs of the entity. 3. Possess an ability to analyze and interpret data as it relates to strategic planning. 4. Possesses communication skills in verbal and written format appropriate to graduate level degree. 5. Assumes the ethical and professional responsibilities within the context of technical, economic, environmental and social justice.

Student Outcomes

Student outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. These relate to the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that students acquire as they progress through the program. Graduates will possess a working ability and understanding of the following outcomes:

1. Knowledge of the history of managing facilities, practice and profession.

2. Ability to plan and manage projects.

3. Manage building systems, facility operations, occupant services and maintenance operations and real estate holdings.

4. Assess, manage and lead facility organizations and their stakeholders in their needs. 5. Apply fiscal management tools to the facility program and organization.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants to graduate programs at Pratt must have received a four-year bachelor's degree from an institution in the US that is accredited by a recognized regional association or have been awarded the equivalent of the U.S. bachelor's degree from an international institution of acceptable standards. TOEFL score of 79 (Internet), an IELTS of 6.5, or PTE of 53.
