在這里學什么?Our school counseling master’s program prepares professional school counselors to work in P-12 public and private schools. Our program prepares school counselors to be change agents and advocates within the school environment promoting equity for all students to grow personally, socially, academically, and to achieve their life-long educational and career goals. We focus on preparing school counselors who are skilled in providing developmentally and culturally responsive prevention and intervention for students and families within schools, who work effectively with individuals and with complex systems, and who collaborate and partner with other professionals and their community to promote the growth and well-being of students.
WHAT CAN I DO WITH A MASTER'S DEGREE IN COUNSELING: SCHOOL COUNSELING?
Graduates of our program go on to find jobs as early childhood and elementary school, middle school, high school, and college and career adviser counselors. Our alumni have worked in schools throughout the regional Portland area, especially within Portland Public Schools.
TRACK I AND TRACK II REQUIREMENTS
Track I is for individuals who can document two or more years of successful teaching experience in Oregon schools or in out-of-state public or accredited private schools. Track I students complete 90 credits that include 6 credits of electives to be arranged with your advisor.
Track II is designed for individuals who cannot document two years of prior teaching experience. TSPC requires students to complete the entire program before being eligible for an initial license. Track II students complete 90 credits that include a 6 credit, 200 clock-hour teaching practicum as part of their program.
The program of study leading to a MA or MS in Education: Counseling includes the following 84 credits plus 6 credits of electives for Track I, or 6 credits of teaching practicum for Track II to reach 90 credits

為來自中國的學生設計 To be admitted to PSU for a master’s program, applicants must satisfy University requirements and be accepted by the academic department in which the graduate study will occur. Admission eligibility is based on receipt of a baccalaureate degree equivalent to a United States four-year bachelor's degree from a college or university recognized as an institution of higher education by the Ministry of Education in the relevant country or be regionally accredited within the U.S. Regular Admission: To be considered for regular admission, applicants must have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or the equivalent (on the U.S. 4.0 scale). Applicants who have earned 9 or more letter-graded graduate credits must have a minimum graduate GPA of 3.0 or the equivalent; this graduate GPA supersedes the undergraduate GPA. IELTS: 6.5 overall score with minimum sub scores of 6.5 in reading and writing, TOEFL score of Paper-based: 550 overall; 22 in writing with 20 in reading and listening, TOEFL score of Internet-based: Minimum overall score of 80 with minimum sub scores of 18 in reading and writing, PTE - Academic: 60 overall.課程信息
