專業(yè)概況
在這里學(xué)什么?The course will prepare you for a career in the design and implementation of IT solutions and service management. As a graduate, you will be well-positioned for a computing career in the ever-evolving global energy industry and its IT providers.
This course provides training in software development tools and techniques, IT service management and geoscience, including renewable energy.
Throughout the course, content is complemented by practical work, undertaken in state-of-the-art facilities, using tools and techniques to allow you to gain the skills required to work within a technical IT environment.
This practical element will enhance your theoretical understanding by developing real-world problem-solving skills; enhancing your employability as a graduate.
What you will study
This course will give you an understanding of the energy industry and how to align IT services with the needs of organisations. You will become proficient in the use of modern software tools and environments and have the ability to integrate the use of tools and techniques in the framework of an appropriate development methodology to develop high quality software solutions.
Throughout the course, content is complemented by practical work, allowing you to support your theoretical development through real-life simulation. You will work on a group project designed to simulate the working environment, allowing you to collaborate with colleagues as you would within multi-discipline teams in the energy sector.
The individual project provides allows you to apply specialist knowledge with analytic, problem-solving, managerial and communication skills to a particular area of interest within energy sector. Working with the full support and guidance of an allocated project supervisor, you will be given the opportunity to propose, plan, specify, develop, evaluate, and present a substantial IT project.

Accredited by the British Computer Society, The Chartered Institute for IT for the purposes of partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Students need to have of the following qualifications: a four-year Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised "211" or "985" university with an overall average of 65% (4 point scale 64-67% = C- and 5 point scale 60-74% = C). 70% is required from all other recognised universities in China. Students who hold a three-year college Diploma from a recognised institution will need to successfully complete a pre-masters programme in China or the UK to be considered for entry. A small number of University postgraduate programmes do require a minimum of second class upper classification, or an equivalent. Applicants with lower qualification and / or relevant work experience will be considered on a case by case basis. Students need to have an IELTS overall of 6.5 includes 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening.課程信息
